My Inevitable Murder

My Inevitable Murder is an award-nominated investigative podcast that seeks to track down the killer of Anne Elizabeth Moore, also the lead investigator in the case and host of the podcast. This true-ish crime comedy podcast is a production of Tinkertown Provisions and was initiated under a Delaware County Arts Grant, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered in Delaware County by the Roxbury Arts Group. Alongside podcasts from the London Times, the Economist, the Daily Mail, and BBC4, the show was shortlisted for a 2023 Future of Media Award for Best Podcast and for two 2023 International Women’s Podcast Awards in the comedy and drama categories.

The current season of My Inevitable Murder, "The Poisoning," is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature. Additional funding provided by the Fund for Investigative Journalism. Until the entire series is completed, episodes will be released only on Patreon.

The Scene of the Crime

Our first episode looks at the setting of a grisly, unsolved murder that ripped the close-knit community of Delaware County, NY apart—or, will rip the close-knit community of Delaware County apart, once the murder occurs. Host and eventual victim Anne Elizabeth Moore speaks with friends, neighbors, and government officials about the heinous crime that awaits her, as well as the breathtaking landscapes of Delaware County, NY.

The Investigation

The second episode assesses the case thus far, holding investigators to task for their near complete ineptitude in solving this heinous crime to date. Host and eventual victim Anne Elizabeth Moore talks to investigative reporters and local sporting goods store sales clerks, and deep-dives the history of murders in Delaware County, NY.

Social Milieu

Our investigator looks at the victim's social milieu to explore the pre-existing violence and suspicious characters that may lead directly to her untimely demise. Host and eventual victim Anne Elizabeth Moore explores complicated emotional terrain of the Western Catskills so listeners at home can begin compiling a list of suspects.

A Confession

In the fourth episode we meet the Delaware County, NY resident, Dateline enthusiast, and beer brewer who plans to kill beloved podcast host Anne Elizabeth Moore. (Due to the sensitive nature of this episode, ads have been pulled so as not to directly associate our delightful advertisers with this grisly crime.)

Interlude

Finally listeners can relax into the awareness that there's no danger to beloved host Anne Elizabeth Moore whatsoever, so we change the name of the series to My Unlikely Murder, and encounter no surprises or upsetting occurrences at all, just a pretty soundscape, and everything is fine for all eighteen and a half minutes of the episode, do not worry. TW: violence, adult language.

The Threat

Finally, a break in this heretofore unsolved and as yet uncommitted murder! In our sixth episode, lead investigator and eventual victim Anne Elizabeth Moore speaks to the executor of her will Nancy J. Arms Simon, real-life comic-book superhero Ann Nocenti, and the guy who left a human-sized vat of a very caustic substance next to her work station, beloved local Dateline enthusiast, Jared Wood.
